Further STEP-FP recruitment update February 2017
The successful 36 candidates invited to the external interviews have been emailed an interview time. Please make sure that your CPD example is in the form of a clinical intervention/contribution to patient care. For those candidates on the reserve list, if anyone withdraws from the process I will contact candidates in order of highest essential and desirable scores, and where those are the same take into account the comments for the short-listers. I am trying to respond to as many queries as possible before the interviews.
The programme provides competency based training, education and experience currently over three years to equip pharmacists with the skills and knowledge to provide the highest quality professional care and progress their careers.
Pharmacists are employed by one of our three acute Trusts and gain confidence and competence through a structured foundation programme.
Following that, there are a series of specialist placements, with a choice from an exciting and range of specialities and the opportunity to work at different hospitals.
STEP is at the forefront of foundation pharmacist development and postgraduate education.
The Joint Programmes Board (JPB) Diploma in General Pharmacy Practice (DipGPP) is fully integrated into the STEP programme and all STEP Pharmacists enrol on the 3 year diploma programme during their induction period.
Our annual Open Evening was held on Friday January 13th 2017 at the Robens Suite, Guys Hospital. Current STEP pharmacists and representatives from each of our base sites were available to talk to potential candidates against the spectacular back-drop of the London sky line.
We had a great turn out despite the weather and trains! Great to see so much enthusiasm for our foundation programme.
Before applying, please ensure you are planning to be registered with the GPhC mid August/September 2017, as we need you ready for on-call commitments in October!
If you are pre-reg sitting your first assessment in September 2017 you will not be eligible to apply this time.
